Shared by Grandchildren

So..it appears my lovely grandchildren have shared with me their bugs again. Most of them are sporting rather snotty noses, and up until the weekend my multi vitamins seemed to have been doing a wonderful job of keeping the nasties at bay. Friday I was tired, I mean sooo tired, but couldn’t sleep when eventually given the chance…not a good sign. On Saturday it was all systems go decorating for a Halloween party…Yesterday the roof of my mouth felt a little odd, and I had a massive yearning to eat all things crap. Come evening the dawning realisation that I possibly was getting a sore throat. And today we’re all bells and whistles, with body aches, ear ache, sore throat and tiredness. Great.

Anyway, thank you modern medicine, hopefully we shall get through this together in as pain free way as possible. QUICKLY!

We have some wonderful sunshine here, but my it has turned cold these past couple of days. I’m actually feeling quite sorry for the washing I’ve pegged outside! The fire has been lit and is most welcome.

The dining hall on Saturday. This is our old wood burner, which now has fairy lights in it, and a black fan heater placed beneath should it ever get cold enough in there to need it.

And the scene was set, waiting for guests to arrive, this was the children’s table, adults were set up in the kitchen. The children had Harry Potter Halloween on the tv screen which kept them mesmerised.

Remember, as far as anybody knows, we’re a nice normal family!

Hubby was quite concerned when he came in to find me hammering drawing pins in the dining hall ceiling! Actually I am rather worried about removing them…do witch hats say Christmas to you?! The candles are lovely and will stay for Winter. They went up thanks to sticky dots so may not do the paint much good when coming down either.

For those with a keen eye, yes that is a mouse dangling from the mantelpiece! There is also one on top of the picture rail. Well who needs to grown up. :)

So I actually have a thousand and one things to be doing, but energy for very little. Think I’m just going to embrace this afternoon by honouring All Souls Day reminiscing.

Blessings, J. x
