Todays work was convert 7 1/2lbs of frozen raspberries into jam...
Lots of lovely jam...needs lots of sugar
And frozen raspberries need to warm through...
Then boil...
Before ladling into jars...
And water bath canning...
Tomorrow it will be off with the clips, check seals and label...
Sometime in the future enjoy...perhaps on fresh bread with butter, or cream...
Or maybe sandwiched between sponges and buttercream...
Or even nestlesd in pastry cases...
Summer in a jar...
Blessings, J. x
I grow raspberries, but the grandsons eat them off the plants, I don't have room to plant more canes, I do love to see Will age 3, looking for ripe berries to pick, he is the same with blueberries and blackberries, but won't ear blackcurrants.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to have to practically lock our fruit cage what with Henry living next doo...he kind of hoovers them off of the plants! x

ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs. Tiggywinkle...Hubby is hoping I find enough strawberries to make jam with...that would be good too! x
